'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith continues battle with City.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he reminisces about the dramatic dying seconds of Swansea's epic comeback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The encounter culminated with Galbraith picking up a supporter's spectacles amid the pitch-side pile-on.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a speculative effort from outside the box, and Cameron Burgess quickly hammered in the deflection before sprinting toward the crowd to celebrate, with supporters congregating around the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The result completed an unbelievable turnaround given Swansea had trailed 2-0 midway through the second half. In the euphoria, there was some unintended consequences. He shared, "There was a spectator sort of calling out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're people, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The victory booked a next round fixture at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith came close against at the same stage of the FA Cup with the London side in February. He had a prime vantage point when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with a teammate's volley from about long distance going in via the crossbar and the Stefan Ortega. It seems unfair that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've awarded it to him for having a go from that range," stated Galbraith, who started in midfield before shifting to right wing-back after the team changed tactics. That meant facing off against Jack Grealish, with whom he traded tops, and the player was among the Manchester squad who complimented the way Orient played positively.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are outstanding but even the fundamentals and simple things, they can just execute repeatedly," Galbraith says. "It seems as if they never miss a pass and they are adept at control and slow down a game. You can think you're doing well and then abruptly they will just fizz a pass past your midfield without you even seeing. You have to be switched on every second of the game. It takes a resilient mindset and concentration just to stay in the game."

New Chapter

Swansea pushed to sign Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to bring him in in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He established himself as a crowd pleaser across a couple of years at Orient and has swiftly achieved similar status in south Wales. At his previous team he linked up again with the coach, who earlier gave Galbraith his first extended run in senior football on loan at Doncaster from Old Trafford. Then came a loan at fourth-tier Salford, before he permanently left Manchester United.

Development Path

"I was probably a slightly green going into senior level. I think numerous professionals would say under-23s football is very different. Sometimes it seems the ball is moved without real physicality. You see few tackles or duels. Once you start playing first-team football you have to adjust fast."

International Recognition

He has demonstrated that development for club and country, shining for the Green and White Army, who remain in contention for the global tournament next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has started the past five games, including home and away encounters against Germany. His former international manager, Galbraith's former international manager, gave him the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he controls possession and his knack for a decisive through ball.

Early Days

This marks quite the ride for the kid from the neighborhood in Glengormley, just outside Belfast, who was raised observing his parent, Stuart, also a engine room operator, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Manchester United Experience

His single match for the Red Devils came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a European competition trip to the host city, where they featured on an plastic turf and the arena covering was shut owing to the weather of bitter cold. "That proved to be a extended travel and it was freezing," he comments, smiling. "The days leading up, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that assisted our preparation. Just to accompany the senior squad and make an appearance at the end was incredible."

Leaving United

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he joined from Linfield aged 16? "It was fairly simple, because I reached the point where I understood I wasn't going to make it at first-team level. I'm extremely thankful for the years at the club but it became apparent where I thought I required a fresh start, drop down the leagues and play men's football. Now I'm gradually progressing again."

Life in Swansea

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at the club's training ground but Galbraith has an appointment at the early evening: a driving theory test, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Before his recent move to the local area, the 24-year-old was a frequent passenger in Swansea's nicknamed team minibus, a team vehicle driven by academy staff, the transport team, which ferries players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, another squad member, Malick Yalcouyé – Melker Widell used to be in it but has started driving. It's nice to socialize with the guys but I'm hoping to be the following person to stop using the bus and on the road. His teammate is known for his humor; he's constantly causing mischief."

Public Engagement

While playing for his former club, Galbraith would blend in with supporters on the Tube after beginning his trip at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
